Manhattan: Upper West Side/
5 Columbus Circle
A theater on this site was built as The Majestic with later incarnations as The Park, The Cosmopolitan (owned by William Randolph Hearst and then Florenz Ziegfeld), The Theatre of Young America, and The Columbus Square. By the time NBC bought the theater in 1949 for use as a television studio, it was called The International. It was here on January 28 that Sid Caesar's "Your Show of Shows" was first broadcast. The theater was demolished to make way for the New York Coliseum.
