The Original Polo Grounds Stood Here

110th to 112th Sts between 5th and 6th (Lenox) Avenues

The first of four baseball stadiums named the Polo Grounds stood here. Of the four, only this one was ever used for polo. The stadium was home to the New York Metropolitans and the New York Gothams, which later became the New York Giants, until 1889.
