Theodore Roosevelt Was Born On This Site

Manhattan: Gramercy Park/
28 East 20th St.

Theodore Roosevelt was born in a brownstone on this site. His family lived here until 1872 and the house was demolished in 1916. After Roosevelt's death in 1919, the Women's Roosevelt Memorial Association bought the site and reconstructed Roosevelt's childhood home.
