Information Collection, Use, and Sharing
Treebase.com ("Treebase") is a personal project intended to educate and entertain. Treebase does not ask for or collect personal information of site visitors directly, but it does, from time to time, use services of third parties, such as Google Maps and Instagram (Facebook) on its pages. These services are used by Treebase to enhance the Treebase user experience. While Treebase does not ask for or store personal data, some services included on some Treebase pages maintained by Google, Facebook, and other third parties may be used by these companies to piece together such information as they log your interactions across multiple websites.

The Treebase website uses "cookie" technology. A cookie is a small text file that a website sends to an individual's browser so that it can be read back later from that browser. On Treebase, cookies can enhance your online experience by saving your preferences or browser session information while you are visiting this site, but do not contain any personally-identifiable information. Cookies cannot profile your system or collect other information stored on your hard drive. Keep in mind, however, that services run by third parties (as explained in the "Information Collection, Use, and Sharing" section of this notice) could use their own cookies to understand your navigation habits across this and other sites.
The "Help" menu option on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether. Cookies must be turned on within your browser for some features on this site to work properly.
Transmission of Treebase web pages is encrypted for information protection, by way of secure sockets layer (SSL). You can verify this by looking for a closed lock icon on your web browser's address bar or "https" at the beginning of the address of a web page. Treebase does not collect sensitive information, such as credit card data, and does not have access to information on individual users.
